We take a collaborative team approach, you are always in the driver’s seat to determine your goals, focus and pace. On-going progress check-ins allow us to adapt as we go, shifting direction as necessary to provide you with the excellent care you deserve.

With a team of multiple therapists with valuable experience we are uniquely positioned to offer a diverse array of services to address a vast range of concerns. No matter what you’re wrestling with, we can point you in the right direction. More information on some of the specific services we offer is available below. This list is far from exhaustive; please reach out to explore how we can best support you.

Faith

There has historically been a rather contentious relationship between the field of psychology and organized religion. We are passionate about breaking down the false dichotomy that they should not or cannot co-exist and will work with you to incorporate your beliefs and traditions; honouring the strength and value that they provide in enriching our lives. Whatever your faith background or denomination, if your faith beliefs impact your current experience, we offer a completely open and non-judgemental environment to explore and clarify your thoughts and will honour and incorporate your faith practices.

Anxiety

Anxiety is so much more complicated than being stressed about something. Empirically supported best practices guide treatment for anxiety including addressing both the physiological (body based) and cognitive (thought based) components of anxiety. With strategies to reality-test the negative and intrusive thoughts, paired with emotional and physiological regulation, CBT and DBT pair up to create a significant improvement in symptoms. While anxiety tends to be quite biologically based, symptoms CAN be well managed. With the anxiety out of the way, you can go back to living unencumbered and being your true self.

Couples Counselling

A large part of Andy’s practice is couples’ work. Regardless of the situation, he will work with you to establish goals; whether it be bettering communication, connection, working toward reconciliation after infidelity, or assisting to navigate the challenging process of uncoupling, Andy can provide a non-judgemental space to do the work. Using empirically supported best practices including the Healthy At Every Size (HAES) model, effective treatment focuses on establishing physical health & wellness, removing guilt and shame around food, and working towards body acceptance. This can’t be done in isolation; effective recovery will include aspects that are uniquely YOU, including addressing anxiety, building self image and identity, living for something bigger than just how we look.
